Digital Signage for infotainment in trains is to make a large leap forward in Denmark. The most widely used commuter trains, called S-Tog (S-Trains), which runs all over Greater Copenhagen and has over 245.000 daily passengers, will during 2010 have digital signage installed in all trains. Installation begins in the spring and will take several months.
The concept is advertisement based, and the national train operator, DSB S-tog, has chosen Gratis Denmark/No Pay Net to operate the ad sales and booking for the network, which will consist of ads, news and service information for passengers. Mermaid Technology has been chosen as supplier of hardware.
More information to be available soon.
